Chance the Rapper, Selena Gomez, Joe Jonas & More Support Kids Making Change with WE Day Celeb S
In a world that unfortunately spreads so much hate, the one thing that always stays consistent with bringing positive vibes to every community is the WE Movement.
The WE Movement makes doing good, doable by giving people everywhere the tools and resources to make the world a better place. To celebrate the youth and their incredible contributions to their local communities, WE puts some of the most iconic celebrities next to hometown heroes for WE Day, a day-long event in cities worldwide inviting fellow students, their parents, and instructors to find hope, optimism, and ideas that will inspire them to get doing, and create big, lasting change.
This summer, WE Day is coming to our televisions via WE Day Special. Sponsored by title partner The Allstate Foundation, and by presenting partners Walgreens and Microsoft, the WE Day Special will air on ABC tomorrow, August 9, at 8/7c. The telecast was filmed at WE Day California in April at The Forum in Inglewood, CA and features chart-topping performers and star-studded celebs including Mahershala Ali, Chance The Rapper, Selena Gomez, Joe Jonas, Bill Nye, Natalie Portman, Lilly Singh, Hailee Steinfeld, Pentatonix, Meghan Trainor, Eddie Vedder, and host Neil Patrick Harris.
“Having the chance to say ‘thank you’ to young people through WE Day is the most rewarding part of my job,” says WE co-founder Craig Kielburger to Celeb Secrets at WE Day California. “We started this organization when it was ‘uncool’ to change the world, and now it’s the coolest thing you can do.”
While we don’t want to give too much away about the special, you can out the trailer for WE Day below and let us know if you’ll be tuning in tomorrow by sending us a tweet at @celebsecrets.
